Simplicity 2180

I've tried something new. Sewing a pattern the way it was intended rather than creating a "frankenpattern" from two or more patterns. Soooo much easier, and with much better fitting results!

Here's my latest, Simplicity 2180:

I wore this to my cousin's wedding at St. John's Church on the Creighton University campus. Since it was hot and humid, the open back felt super comfortable when the breeze blew! Also, Andy was able to continue his newfound hobby of photographing Jesuit Churches.

Thanks to the father of the bride's ability to get great seats, the following day we attended the College World Series game 1 and had a great time. We love Omaha!

Kare Dress: MASTERED!

I did it! After all the irritation and silly mistakes, my Kate dress is ready for the BIG DAY tomorrow! I'll be arriving at the party in my dress and blingy blue cocktail ring, with my British flag and "Prince William is a fox" shirt that's a leftover from college. It just can't sit in a drawer on a day like tomorrow!

VICTORY!

Somehow we don't have a before picture, which surprises me. Oopsies! In this photo, we'd already removed a storage cabinet from the wall, and taken out the pedestal sink for tile-removal.

In addition to pulling up tile, we've been patching walls and filling holes for awhile. Some were pretty big, so it's been a process.

Aaaand... Here lies our sink, for who knows how long.

In the end, this is the look we're going for:

2 Years Married!

Since we were both just back from traveling, we didn't do much to celebrate our second wedding anniversary. Andy, however, redeemed himself by bringing home the most beautiful roses that I've ever received:
